Δ Great weather (:
30 August 2013, 18:05
Its been forever since I have come home before the sun sets, not to mention how beautiful the sun and the clouds are today. Its really nice thinking about how I used to come home at this 530, 6 o'clock timing too. Sigh. If only I had the courage if only I had some courage.
Anyway it was the last class for the tennis PE module today. It was actually fun and for some weird reason my left hand and right leg aches /: Maybe its the first time ever - PE lessons giving me aches hahaha. I'm breaking new records of unsportiness everyday heh.
On top of that, our teacher actully made us write cards back to a secondary school teacher, saying how we are coping now, saying thanks, and wishing them a happy teachers day, and said that he would also add a note inside about how we are coping in RI now. At first I thought the idea of forcing us to make cards was rather silly, I mean having to force a person do it is just ridiculous because it shows that it's not sincere. But on second thought, I found my teacher really nice and sweet, while its a "forced assignment", it makes us stop and take the time to think and reflect and be thankful. Its the realization that you have a ton of teachers who have taught you in the past, and the thought process in deciding who do you want to dedicate this to and who would probably take the time to read at your message that you have, perhaps painfully, sacrificed time and effort to write, that make you reflect and be thankful. And the fact that our teacher is willing to sacrifice his time to add onto our notes shows that he cares. I don't really know how to put it but I really enjoyed doing it. Thanks Mr Lai (:
Δ Just saying (:

Hmm I think I should make it a habit to journal more often. I just googled for something when I came across this WordPress and the person simply writes about his/her day, takeaways, musings.. little things in life; and it was interesting for me to visualise how the author looked at his/her own life. Perhaps I'll do it a little more often (:
Today was nothing much, in fact I just came back from godma's place. Possibly something that hit me was the limited time left to exams, and the fact that I really don't remember work from the first half of the year anymore. And I guess its really disappointing that I'm just working towards all passes - and its not even a 50% pass, its a E grade pass. Perhaps there's somewhere inside where I want to do better than that but I guess there's fear of failing and perhaps just the lack of motivation I guess. I don't really know /: Sigh I think I should just not mull too much over such things. Time to look at chem again, ugh will you just kill me now. )-:
I just remebered this but what happened to my a photo a post oh no sorry )))-:

Δ What do I want to do, what do I actually want to do more?

Hmm my application for the bicultural china scholarship got approved and I guess I'm a bit conflicted in that I don't know if I should accept. That's because this scholarship requires me to go for an immersion trip which clashes with that of the french immersion trip and I guess it's hard for me to decide because it's a good trip versus a translation class, something that I really wanted to go for, and the complication lies in that I've already signed the letter for the french immersion programme. Sigh I really don't know which one to pick. French wins hands down over chinese but I guess, translation class over trip. But I guess the trip has its redeeming points in that there is a personal significance for me. I'm more or less convinced on rejecting the scholarship but the action, the decision to reject such a good opportunity is just.. difficult I guess?
And I don't even know if the personal significance is really that significant, it could simply be my naive daydreams. Sigh. How. /:
Δ National Day!
09 August 2013, 21:34
Wooohoooo it's 9 August! Happy national day (:
Anyway, we had national celebrations on the 7th in RI, it was pretty fun :D (it was Hari Raya yesterday so national day celebrations was pushed a day forward). It was a mix of a carnival styled event (games and food booths) and a "performance" (as in there was this ihc telematch and communal singing that we were required to attend) and I thought this structure was really cool. I didn't really go around the booths, but was sitting around and playing games with my class, trying the food we got from the food fair that was going on (THE SATAY WAS SOO GOOOD. ) Haha, and they gave out really pretty helium balloons!! (though it became deflated pretty quickly, it couldn't really float by the time it was evening - I guess that's how they remove the balloons that floated up to the hall ceiling anyway hahah. Yeah so I was holding a balloon and walking around like a complete retard :D I managed to catch Kayyang's band's performance when I reached the MPH (when tabi pangsehed me ): apparently she had to go the PAC) So yeah I was a freaking retard holding a balloon, cheering for the band, alone. -_- Can you even imagine. Anyway, they were really good and they performed Little Talks (by Of Monsters and Men), Humans (by The Killers) and Home (yupps the national day song by Kit Chan) :D The IHC telematch was quite interesting (it's not as boring as you would imagine it to be and some of the questions are actually difficult). Communal singing is always fun :D
But ohkay, I'm kinda sick now. It's the 2nd day now. (maybe 3rd, I don't really remember) The ususal cold symptoms, runny nose, cough, slight fever, headache, body ache, blah blah blah. (ohkay I don't usually get the slight fever and headache but yeah, it's not thaaaaaaaat bad). Just that it's really tiring and I end up falling alseep 90% of the time, not to mention about the pile of work I have yet to touch. Good job. Sigh. I just have to fall sick during the holidays out of all days -_-
Δ Great takeaways from lots of quotes
05 August 2013, 21:25
It's been a long time since I've posted something really long, so yeah, here's a long one (: Basically I've been pretty busy with PW work and just that day, I was doing the transcript for one of our interviews. Even though I had attended the interview, the mood was really light, as in it was really quite informal, so some things that the interviewee said hadn't struck me, yet when I was doing the transcript and I had the time to pen down what had been said, I just realised the amount of wisdom that was in there. A little here, a little there, all of which could have seemed to be rather normal; these are things that do happen in our lives, but yet how much thought have we given it? P.S. I hope you guys don't mind me posting this, sorry!
"when you come to research and framing it, you tend to generate questions to suggest that life is compartmentalized and this makes it simple to approach a complex subject but you mustn't be mislead by the idea that we can actually divide it neatly along certain lines."
"You know sometimes when you’re a professional you tend to think that you are god’s sent embodiment of knowledge and wisdom which when you graduate from university you tend to think so but as you go on in life you realise that your prescriptions and your interventions don’t really change life that much, sometimes there are many other factors that come and hamper the help that you render. Hence you learn to be humble over time, to assume that what you wish to happen may not actually happen, and you work around it, which is to say that control is not exactly a word that operates on my mind on a day to day basis; maybe a cousin to that word, influence, is closer to the truth. You try to influence so that tomorrow is better than today for that person concerned but wanting to control means that you just turn something down and flip some switches and no problem, everything will happen. "
"Knowledge or full of knowledge itself doesn't always drive the correct human behaviour "
I guess these quotes are really relevant to my life now, as in academics, cocurricular activities, goals, dreams, relationships - basically what am I going to do with my life, what am I going to do with all those dilemmas in life. I guess there's no ready I answer that I can google or find at the end of some ten years series book, but rather, what I want recorded in the ten years series of my own life. Sigh this sounds all cliche, it wasn't supposed to be, but well... sigh. Ok just to end this off, one more quote I saw on tumblr! I really like quotes though they aren't all that helpfull all the time haha.

(: Sounds silly but I am silly anyway.
