CHEONGYILEI
Me, I don't eat (most of) my veggies. I enjoy air-conditioners on humid mornings, ice-creams on cold evenings and sleeping on rainy nights. I'm a dreamer and a kpop lover. I like dark red roses and bright yellow sunflowers, but I hate artificial flowers. I like travelling and daydreaming a lot better than annotating literature texts though I like libraries, bookstores and thick a4-sized notebooks. I think its fun to scribble stuff - words, quotes, pictures, symbols - in my notebooks. I have a tendency of writing notes on foolscap and losing them ): Oh, I think I want to dye my hair red when I grow up. And and and, I think its pretty fun writing this.
Δ xmas, be merry and ready (to kick some asses)

Yay merry christmas! Can't believe that 2015 is coming to an end so quickly! Can't wait for 2016 though, hope it's gonna be good (:
But yes. I'm all ready to kick some asses because I've been walking into quite a number of walls. Firstly, the office of student administration finally got back to me and is refusing to process my summer program applications because I'm still in the DDP program. -_- As a result, I'm rushing the DDP profs/staff to pass me my withdrawal terms, but guess what, they're on leave. So thankfully, I get to delay for a few more days until after new year!
Secondly, I realised that some people in the orientation committee have a very different idea of what orientation 2016 should be like and it's frustrating because I feel like that is encroaching upon my power to decide. I guess one of the things I've developed over time is the ability to cut through nice words and bullshit into the cold hard message. So when someone comes to me and doubts the quality of my team and myself (bold my team), I just want to slap them for even having that intention in the first place. I'm open to feedback but wanting to redefine the way in which I do my things or to put down the effort that my team has put in?
Please, get out of my elite uncaring face. No thank you.

And sooooo, all the exams have finally ended and it's a five week break for us. It's a much welcome break given the rather crazy sutd academic life but as the clock ticked to 2pm and I handed up my papers, I took a moment to look around. As my holidays begin and 2015 draws towards its final days, I cannot help but find a bittersweet feeling nestled up somewhere in my heart.
The hustle and bustle of school life that I so often take for granted, is also something I so enjoy. When I marched into the advanced math class, I felt like I was mad, delusional, nuts - you name it. Everybody was celebrating after a good math paper, and here I was, panicking over the fact that I haven't even revised for the next. Like hello. Im willingly walking into a lions enclosure with no safety gear whatsoever. But with some spur of the moment crazy courage, I did. I got bitten to death by the damn lion but I was the one who let it do that. I pat the lion on its head, ran my fingers through its majestic fur and offered my measly brains. I enjoyed wrecking my brains, flipping through my notes, desperately force fitting parts of the puzzle together - even know I figured I wouldn't get it. Sometimes physics is like that too, just sometimes - so neh, still not really my thang.
On a totally irrelevant note, my class watched Mr Nobody post exams and I guess there's this one quote that I really liked. It goes. "only the architect knows" the movie's really confusing but the idea behind it is this kid who can see the future and all the possible implications that his choice can have on his future. At the end of the movie, the old him says that every path he takes is a right one because all of them would be right. The characters (which were manifestations of thought) were non existent and only the architect (aka the person) himself knows. It's kinda creepy but cool at the same time? Ya lol such an uncool ending to such a long post but ya whatever I'm writing seems so incoherent because there are so many emotions going through me, I can't find the right words.
So bare with me a little and it's gonna be a beautiful day today. (:

Taking notes at his talk in school, super excited that I came because it's actually v interesting ((:
- Science helps us understand objects but it does not answer all questions (why one did something etc)
- God is a projection of our whims in the sky (Freudian argument of religion)
- God is often seen as a God of the gaps (confusion about the nature of God in the first place)
- What does 'explaination' mean? E.g. All we know and are able to calculate are the effects of gravity not what gravity is
- Explaination can be 1) scientific and 2) with regards to intention and they complement each other
- Has science aided what God wants us to do? - humans are the image of God then what we are trying to do to benefit the flourishing of mankind is also reflective of God's work
- Who created God? - there is an assumption that God is created in the first place. If we say the universe is created from nothing, what does nothing even mean? Does it mean the absence of things or things such as vacuum?
- Does evolution show atheism? - evolution has nothing to do with the origin of life
- Language and meaning shows that there's a mind behind it, in the same way science shows that there's a mind behind it
- Is it possible to test the existence of God? - From the daily experience of the work of God
