Δ Pre-Release of Results ?
28 February 2015, 22:03
As if you haven't already heard the news yet, but there: A-level results are released on monday 2 March!
I thought I would have a heart attack at the thought of it but I think I'm going a little crazy at the fact that I'm not getting any heart attacks nor haunted by any nightmares. I'm consciously worried and the more that happens, the more worried am I about my lack of worry.
Does it even make any sense? I hope so. Sigh I'm so tired these few days, possibly because I've been drowning myself too much on kdramas and I haven't been spending quality me time. ):<<
Δ 羊年快乐!

除夕
Fortunately, I could work from home and not spend two hours travelling back and forth for half day of work. It was the eve of the Chinese New Year and the New Year mood was really setting in. The flowers Daddy and Mummy bought to decorate the house also started blooming ((: So there was praying of ancestors in the early afternoon, before I went last minute shopping with daddy to get his shoes, followed by reunion dinner at my paternal grandmother's house before we went home, plonked down onto the sofa, watched the Channel 8 春节晚会, counted down to the Lunar New Year and yay went to sleep.
初一:恭喜发财,红包一个来。
Red.
Red.
Red.
Red!!! (:
Happy Lunar New Year! This year, we made some changes to our usual CNY itinerary and went to
dai-bat-po's (grandaunt's?) place first, before going to my paternal grandma's place and then to my uncles' place. Really glad that I managed to meet some relatives that I hardly do during these visits but well, sadly I didn't get to meet all my relatives today. Still, it was a gorgeous day with the day shining bright and our whole family decked out in red. I wore the maroon dress I taobao-ed. Finally it was not something black but it was so short I can perpetually pullling my dress down the entire day. (: Awesome new year, not so much for the red packets but because the happy atmosphere everywhere is infectious. Yay.
初二:我的姐农历生日,有好料吃。
I tried to be as step as I could. I tried.
We went down at like 10am when the sun was shining mercilessly, just to take #ootd pictures (which I may add, scored a new high of 86 likes on insta as of 21 feb hahaha.) The photo on insta is another one where I was flipping around like a crazy goat. I don't understand how I
goat got so many likes either.
Happy lunar birthday! (:
It was my sister's lunar birthday so we went out to eat at Kiseki at Orchard Central. It was not the best cny meal we have ever had but it was value for money given that it was the festive season and restaurants were all charging sky high prices.
At Kiseki!
I think it was my sister's casually but artfully done up plate at Kiseki.
捞个风生水起,捞个straight As.
We even had lo-hei (with plenty of fish and two strands of veggies)! I think it has become a standard practice on the second day of the new year annually (: Then we went shopping at Orchard. Though I couldn't find anything, window shopping in itself was fun! In the evening, we went over to my cousin's house where we had dinner, played the usual - and still very very fun - cny games such as mahjong. I still suck at it and have only figured out the basics, but in my defense, no one plays mahjong at home so exposure to the game is nearly zero. Online games don't really teach you anything, meh /:
初三:上班,选冰箱,吃晚餐
#ootd
So I started work (as in tuitioning) today and the family even gave me a red packet! The times when you are so grateful to be living in a society that embraces multi racialism and multi culturalism n_n In the afternoon, my family and I went to Courts Tampines to scout for a new refrigerator for uncle's house. Their refrigerator apparently broke down on New Year's Eve after being cleaned and washed. My aunt, who did the cleaning, was lamenting about why couldn't it just break down earlier --' Anyway, we have not bought one yet since we could not find one with the same dimensions as the older one so we are going back to confirm the maximum dimensions possible before making a final decision. Then, as per my request, we hopped over to Ikea Tampines and shopped Ikea. No, we are not renovating or anything, I just like to shop Ikea, I really love how they incorporate showrooms into the shop, using the furniture to furbish up a (visibly) small room so you can actually see how pretty their things can be rather even in the small apartments we normal humans live in as compared to the normal furniture shops which simply showcase the layout of a (often luxurious) living room in an open room without giving the customer a real sense of how much space in the room would that piece of furniture take up. (Did that 5-lined sentence make any sense? ) Summary: I basically adore how they put their furniture together in a small, walled up area. Moving on, we had dinner there. Other than the fact that their best dish, aka meatballs, contains beef, Ikea's food is awesome. Not to mention you get a tray trolley. #lazymansolutions

Tray trolley teehee
We finished up our Ikea shopping, buying scented tealight candles and clothes hangers and a lint remover and... A $0.50 SOFT SERVE. Ok fine, I know I'm such a glutton. But the cheap thrills make up another factor which draws me to ikea. I didn't manage to take a picture of the awesome icecream machine where you get to put in the ikea token, place the cone in the bottom-centre of the machine which raises it up, fills it with vanilla ice cream then "pop" drops it back down to the bottom. And yay, soft serve!!! ((((:

It's office hours and I really shouldn't be doing this but hey, I'm all ready for the new year!~ I'm actually excited although there isn't anything exciting coming up this year. It's just going to be a normal cny but still, I'M ALL READY FOR LUNAR NEW YEARRRRRRRRRR.
And the long weekend, bien sûr. (:
Δ outings x4 & internship
02 February 2015, 19:53
It hadn't struck me how long haven't I written until a minute ago when I found a seat on the bus and started looking for the Blogger app. (I sent my phone for servicing and almost everything got wiped out, remember? )
And wow. So much has happened within the past weeks - I mean, can you believe it, it's already February - , so fasten your seat belts and try not to fall asleep reading my recount.
I had my brown interview and it's a little crazy how I found my internship with my interviewer. The interview itself was just ohkay in my opinion, nothing too wow nor did my interviewer fall asleep. Probably still not good enough to make it to brown but well, que sera sera.
Sushi cake!
Made a card for our beloved birthday girl!
Tadaaaa!Birthday girl.
Then on Monday (26 Jan), Zining, Ruo Yi and I went out for lunch for a belated birthday celebration for Ruoyi at Sushi Express at 313. Frankly? The sushi wasn't impressive but it was really fun watching the sushi go round and round past us and choosing the one with the largest and thickest piece of sashimi hahaha #cheapo but hey, this is a simple pleasure of life (:
Then the busy weekends came about where different groups of friends all frantically cramped outings so that we could see the guys with hair one last time for a pretty long time.
Happy com.sci kids. (:
So there was BBQ with CCA on Saturday evening where we went to Aranda Country Club. The guys were retarded as usua, they couldn't stop playing with their nerf guns they won at hackathon, except like Dennis maybe because we form the bedrock of stability. All hail the Alliance of Bedrock of Stability aka ABS hahahaha. (; It was great that the girls (Yan Kay, Yen Ling, Hui Jun and Xin Wei) could make it too so we had some substantial number of girl representatives for once hehe. Ranald even brought his girlfriend along! (They are like a pair of walking evidence which proves that people grow to look like each other when they like each other) Oh cards against humanity is hilarious. Haven't heard of it? You're missing out. Big time. Oh yeah, and the guys bought Jack Daniels and Somersby and Breeze. I stayed away from the hard liquor but drank a bottle of Somersby and guess what, I was suffering from the asian flush for the whole night. (I even had to get BB cream to cover up before going home, just in case) The rest still insisted on me taking a photo together despite looking like a roasted sausage - and ughhhh photos went online even though I told them not to (which teaches me that I should not drink when with these people z).

Then Sunday was even crazier. First, there was kayaking with a handful of my classmates (Zining, Melvin, Nicholas, Jonathan and Ying Yao) at the water centre at Sports Hub ; we planned to kayak at 3 but some other group got in front of us and we had till wait till 4.30pm. By the time we were fully briefed, it was already 5. But the awesome thing is that they actually start counting the 2 hours from the time you start paddling. Since they closed at 7, we were the last group.
Zining and I!
The guys all took singles while Zining and I shared an open double. It was a pity that we could only paddle within a certain area which was quite small but a really enjoyable experience, accompanied by a breathtaking city view.
Fantabulous city view!
When the sun started to set, the scenery was even better. Sadly, I didn't manage to take photos during the kayaking though we managed to get random kind-hearted passerbys to take photos and send it to us. Oh did I mention that the view is spectacular too when you lean back and look at everything upside down from a 180 degree different angle?
Things to do before I go kayaking again: get a one star certification so that I can go beyond the boundaries. Get a water proof camera with strap so that I can go taking photos!
(The majority of) F6.20!
~ Paint me like one of your french girls ~
Tableau of french class girls showing what "bimbo" means to them
After the kayaking, I went for BBQ with frenchies @stradidarius' place (aka at Darius' place. I never fail to be impressed by the turn up rate rate. It is always better than that for 3Q class outing /: I was fashionably late (or maybe worse) and only reached at 8. This BBQ was so much more successful that the one with the com science guys. At least I didn't have to put up with half charred but undercooked chicken franks. (Dont ask me how they achieved it) maybe it's because it's the experienced BBQ guy (aka Si Hong) along with other highly capable females (aka Ting Ting, Li Lin, Niki etc) who did it this time round. We also tried to dunk Kay Yang into the pool though it was a futile attempt. We also took photos and talked about all kinds of things including Ting Ting's boyfriend haha. Like always, there was alcohol - to be exact, vodka and somersby. So the guys were downing vodka and I'm not sure how they made it home. As I was going home early, I didn't drink. #GoodGirl n_n I learnt my lesson ok.
Then there was my internship! It was a pretty great first day where I met my colleagues. First thing that happened in the morning was pretty embarrassing because I was late and I couldn't get access into the inno centre because no one was going in. So I made a wonderful decision to call Vinesh, my boss, about it and guess what this uncle came along half way during the call and tapped in. -__- It was quite a bit of admin work but I guess I was exposed to some indices that I've never heard of in my entire life. It suddenly felt like I had zero - or maybe negative - financial literacy. I really appreciated how Vinesh came in later in the day and even made the effort to talk to me about what I wanted to learn during my internship. Yay, looking forward to my internship days!!
